It can be powered directly by an AC outlet, using eero’s 30W Outdoor PoE+ power adapter, or a direct PoE+ connection (via Ethernet cable), so it’s important to consider placement and access to a power source before purchasing.
Do I need power tools to install eero Outdoor 7?
eero Outdoor 7 must be mounted vertically on a wall or post with the bracket provided. Mounting to wood, fiber cement, or stucco will require drilling for installation, so a professional installer may be needed. A power drill is not needed for vinyl installations, but may be required for a pole installation. Follow the installation guide instructions to help ensure that your eero Outdoor 7’s weatherproof capabilities work properly.
Can I place my eero Outdoor 7 on a flat surface like a table?
No, you cannot. eero Outdoor 7 is designed to be mounted vertically on a wall or post with the bracket provided. Not following the installation instructions will void your eero Outdoor 7's Limited Warranty.
Is it safe to leave it outside year-round?
Yes. eero Outdoor 7 meets the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard rating of IP66. This means that eero Outdoor 7 is tested to perform in weather that you won’t want to be in:
Severe storms—eero Outdoor 7 is tested to operate in storm conditions (such as driving rain and 100 mph winds) when mounted as directed in the installation guide.
Cold winters—eero Outdoor 7 is also tested to operate on the coldest days (down to -40°F).
Hot summers—eero Outdoor 7 is tested to operate in direct sun on hot days (over 113°F).
Please be aware: Your eero Outdoor 7 is not intended to survive a direct lightning strike.
Do I need to clean eero Outdoor 7?
It’s not necessary, but you can clean it with a damp cloth if you’d like. Do not expose it to corrosive cleaners.
Can I add more eero Outdoor 7s to expand my coverage outside?
